Description

Skip-Bo, a classic card game created by the makers of the beloved UNO, is a highly entertaining game that is especially enjoyable for adults and older children. It's also an excellent choice for parents who want to challenge their children a bit. We've personally played the game with friends at our summer house, and when played in teams, it becomes a highly strategic game.

In Skip-Bo, players must use their skills and strategy to create stacks of cards that must be in ascending order from 1 to 12. The first player to successfully use up all the cards in their base pile on the table wins the game.

To begin the game, shuffle the cards and deal each player the appropriate number of cards as indicated in the game rules chart. The cards are then placed face up and form each player's own deck. The top card of each player's deck is turned over and left on top of the pile face up. The remaining cards are placed face up in the center of the playing area, forming the closed pile.

The objective of the game is to discard all the cards in your own pile on the table in front of you. During gameplay, up to four building piles can be created on the table in front of all the players. These piles are accessible to all players. Additionally, each player can create up to four discard piles in front of them for cards that cannot be laid out in the construction piles. However, players may only use their own discard piles.

The game begins with the youngest player, and each player must take the following actions on their turn in the order listed:

Draw cards from the closed pile until you have five cards in your hand.
Place cards in the construction piles from your hand, discard piles, and your own pile if possible.
When you've placed all the cards from your hand or deck that you can, end your turn by placing a card from your hand into one of the four discard piles in front of you. The turn then moves to the next player.
