Philips Avent
Philips Avent originates from Glemsford in England, and was started by a then young British man named Edward Aktin. It all started in 1982 when Edward was to be a father. Shortly after the birth, Edward began researching the feeding bottles on the market. He tried several different ones, and could not understand how it was that he got hold of one defective one after another. Either they were too hard, too narrow, or the container was not very stable to have standing on a table. He also experienced that the holes in the feeding bottle could seem too small, so that the child had to use more effort to get the food out, and thus also ended up swallowing too much air during the intake of the food, which can cause discomfort in relation to stomach pain.
Products and range
Edward decided to design a Philips Avent feeding bottle that was made of silicone first and foremost, as this product is a much softer product than if you use, for example, latex, which can be a very hard product and for some children , i.e. a much too hard product to bite into. That is why Edward Aktin was the first to launch a Philips Avent baby bottle made of tasteless and odorless silicone. This Philips Avent baby bottle was designed so that it had a short teat, with a wide neck. It was made in such a way that it would remind so much of the breasts, because that way the baby would feel more calm and safe, because it reminds so much of the breasts, that it would make breastfeeding and feeding easier, because the baby would not want to get too sucky confused, and it makes the process easier by alternating between nursing and feeding from time to time.
In addition, the Philips Avents feeding bottle was also launched with an anti-colic valve, which was supposed to ensure that when the baby drank from the feeding bottle, it would automatically ensure that all the air went back down into the bottle and did not end up in the stomach, thus causing possible stomach pain and discomfort in the baby.
After the first Philips Avent feeding bottle was launched, he decided to expand the range of teats. These pacifiers had to be made in different sizes and shapes, so that you would always be able to find the pacifier that suited your child's age and size.
A gentle product
Philips Avent's products are designed to be used by all babies and toddlers. Therefore, it is important that the material used is 100% gentle. This means that all Philip Avent products are made without BPA, so you can safely use them without worrying. All Philips Avent products are made of tasteless and odorless silicone, as this avoids allergic reactions and hypersensitivity.
